- 2 tablespoons gram flour (besan), roasted
- 2 tablespoons yogurt
- 1/2 cup fresh coriander, chopped
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1 egg (for binding)
- Oil for frying or grilling
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Beef
In a pot, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and sauté chopped onions until golden brown. Add minced garlic and ginger paste, cooking for another minute. Then, add beef, turmeric, cumin, coriander, red chili powder, black pepper, and salt.
Step 2: Slow Cook and Shred the Beef
Add 1 cup of water and let the beef simmer on low heat for 1 hour or until it is tender and shreds easily. Once cooked, remove the beef from the pot and shred it using two forks.
Step 3: Prepare the Kabab Mixture
In a large bowl, mix the shredded beef with garam masala, lemon juice, roasted gram flour, yogurt, chopped coriander, green chili, and egg. Combine well until the mixture holds together.
Step 4: Shape and Cook the Kababs
Shape the mixture into small kababs or patties. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the kababs on medium heat for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Alternatively, you can grill them for a healthier option.
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
Serve the kababs hot with mint chutney, raita, or a side of naan. Enjoy this delicious Shredded Beef Kabab by Tasneem Mapara!
