Recipe Description

These quick and easy Florentines are perfect for a sweet treat. The combination of chocolate, nuts, and dried fruit is simply irresistible.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup golden syrup
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried apricots
  • 1/2 cup chopped mixed nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts)
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Stir in the golden syrup, flour, dried apricots, mixed nuts, and chocolate chips.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips

  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of granulated sugar.
  • You can add other dried fruits and nuts to the mixture, such as cranberries, raisins, or pecans.
