Recipe Description

Mushroom Cream Chicken is a comforting and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts cooked in a luscious mushroom cream sauce. This recipe combines earthy mushrooms with creamy goodness, making it a family favorite. Serve it over pasta, rice, or with fresh bread for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 300g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

Step 2: Sauté the Vegetables

  • In the same skillet, add butter and sauté onions until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  • Add garlic and mushrooms, cooking until the mushrooms are golden and tender, about 5 minutes.

Step 3: Make the Cream Sauce

  • Pour in the chicken stock and bring to a simmer, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  • Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Step 4: Combine and Serve

  • Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top.
  • Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and the flavors meld together.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
