Recipe Description
This Spiced Honey Drizzle Cake is a moist and aromatic treat, perfect for tea time or a cozy dessert. Infused with warm spices and topped with a delightful honey drizzle, it’s an easy cake to bake but delivers rich, complex flavors.
Ingredients
- 150g butter, softened
- 125g brown sugar
- 100g honey (plus extra for drizzling)
- 3 large eggs
- 200g self-raising flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a loaf tin with parchment paper.
- Cream the butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the honey and beat well.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf tin and smooth the top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the cake is still warm, drizzle extra honey on top for added sweetness and shine.
