VEGAN HAZELNUT SPREAD
Ingredients
1 cup hazelnuts
6-7 dates
2 tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder
Apple slices to serve
Method
1. Preheat the oven at 180˚C. Dry roast hazelnut for 12-15 minutes or until they have browned a little.
2. Meanwhile, soak dates for 30 minutes with sufficient water in a bowl (if using soft dates then you may use them directly).
3. Transfer the roasted hazelnuts in a blender jar, blend to a fine powder. Add the soaked dates, cocoa powder and a dash of water. Blend well.
4. Add 2 tbsps water and blend till smooth.
5. Store in an air tight container up to 2 weeks or serve with apple slices or as required.
