A delicious and comforting Kadhi made using Sabut Moong Dal.

SABUT MOONG KI KADHI

Ingredients

1 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp dried fenugreek seeds
A pinch of asafoetida
2-3 curry leaves
1 tsp garlic paste
1 small onion, finely chopped
1½ cups whole green gram (sabut moong), soaked and drained
½ tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1 ½ tsps red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
2½ cups buttermilk (chaach)
2 tbsps Tata Sampann Fine Besan
1 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)

Method

1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves and garlic paste, sauté for a few seconds.
2. Add onion and sauté till golden brown. Add moong, turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and mix well. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
3. Take buttermilk in a bowl and add Tata Sampann Fine Besan, whisk till well combined and lumps free. Set aside.
4. Add the yogurt mixture into the pan. Mix well till the mixture comes to a boil.
5. Add dried fenugreek leaves and allow to cook for 1 minute. Take it off the heat and transfer to a serving bowl.
6. Serve hot.
