Cooking Time

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Baking Time: 30 minutes
  • Cooling Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until combined. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, beating well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Dollop the peanut butter over the batter, then pour the remaining brownie batter on top, spreading it out smoothly.
  7. Use a butter knife to swirl the peanut butter through the batter for a marbled effect. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top if desired.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
