A rich and delicious mutton recipe from the beautiful land of Himachal Pradesh.
HIMACHALI RARA GOSHT
Ingredients
500 grams mutton on the bone
250 grams mutton mince
2 tbsps oil
1 large onion, sliced
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
Salt to taste
1 medium tomato chopped
1 tbsp garam masala powder
1½ tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp cumin powder
2 tsp coriander powder
½ cup yogurt
Freshly chopped coriander for garnish
Method
1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker add onions and sauté till translucent.
2. Add mutton and mix well. Add ginger garlic paste, salt and sufficient water, mix well. Cover and cook for 2-3 whistles.
3. Once the pressure settles down, open the lid and add tomato, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and cook for 5-10 minutes.
4. Add yogurt and mix well. Add mutton mince and cook for 25-30 minutes.
5. Add chopped coriander and serve hot.
