This popular recipe of sweet grated raw mango pickle is a must with every meal in Gujarati households. A must try !

CHHUNDA

Ingredients

500 grams raw mangoes
1 tablespoon salt
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
500 grams sugar
1 tablespoon cumin seeds (jeera)

Method

1. Peel and grate mangoes in a bowl. Add salt and mix.
2. Add turmeric powder and sugar and mix well. Cover tightly with a muslin cloth and keep in the sun for 7 days or till one string consistency is formed. Keep mixing every day.
3. Dry roast cumin seeds till fragrant.
4. Grind to a coarse powder, add to the mangoes and mix well. Cover tightly with a muslin cloth and keep in the sun for 7 days or till one string consistency is formed. Keep mixing every day.
5. Serve or store in airtight container.
