Festivals are absolutely incomplete without laddoos, so here is a simple Besan Laddoo recipe for you!

BESAN LADDOO

Ingredients

1 cup ghee
4 cups coarse gram flour (jada besan)
½ tsp green cardamom powder
1¾ cups powdered sugar
Cashew nut halves for garnish

Method

1. Heat ghee in a non-stick wok, add gram flour and mix well. Roast on medium heat for 30-35 minutes or till fragrant and golden brown. Take the pan off the heat.
2. Transfer the mixture into a large steel plate and allow to cool to room temperature.
3. Add green cardamom powder and powdered sugar and mix till well combined.
4. For making laddoos, take a portion of the mixture and shape it into a ball. Slightly press on top and place a cashew nut half, press gently.
5. Serve or store in air tight container.
