A continental dish with an Indian twist, Amritsari Fish Fingers are the perfect way to indulge when you crave some deep fried foods.
AMRITSARI FISH FINGERS
Ingredients
300 grams king fish (surmai) fillet, cut into fingers
½ lemon
Salt to taste
2 cups Tata Sampann Fine Besan
¼ tsp carom seeds
1½ tsps red chilli powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
2 tbsps yogurt
2 eggs
Chaat masala to sprinkle
Onion rings to serve
Lemon wedges to serve
Green chutney to serve
Method
1. In a large bowl, add fish fingers, squeeze lemon, salt, and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
2. In another large bowl, add Tata Sampann Fine Besan, carom seeds, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix well.
3. Add ginger-garlic paste, yogurt and break in the eggs into the same bowl. Whisk to make a smooth mixture.
4. Add sufficient water and mix well to form a thick batter of coating consistency.
5. Add the fish finger and mix till well coated. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
6. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, drop in the fish finger and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper, sprinkle a little chaat masala and transfer into a serving plate.
7. Serve hot with onion rings, lemon wedges and green chutney.
