A scrumptious starter made with Mandeli fish fillets!
MANDELI FRY
Ingredients
24-26 mandeli fish
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tbsp lemon juice
¼ cup corn starch
¾ cup rice flour
½ cup semolina
Oil for deep frying
Green chutney to serve
Onion rings to serve
Lemon wedge to serve
Method
1. Remove the head and clean the mandeli fish and set aside in a bowl.
2. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, mix well. Set aside to marinate for 5-10 minutes.
3. In a plate, add corn starch, rice flour, semolina, salt and mix well. Dip the fish in the prepared mixture and set aside.
4. Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick pan, deep fry the prepared fish in the hot oil till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
5. Serve hot with green chutney, onion rings and lemon wedge.
