Education and Training

He worked at some of the top restaurants in London and Paris, including the Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons. During this time, he learned about the latest trends in cuisine and gained invaluable experience in working in high-pressure kitchen environments.

Career

Upon his return to New Zealand, Michael Meredith started his career at The Grove, a fine-dining restaurant in Auckland. He worked his way up from a junior chef to a sous chef, and eventually, the head chef. Under his leadership, The Grove earned critical acclaim and became one of the top restaurants in the country. The restaurant received numerous awards, including the Best Metropolitan Restaurant in New Zealand award from Cuisine Magazine.

In 2011, Michael Meredith opened his own restaurant, Meredith’s, in Auckland’s Mt Eden neighborhood. The restaurant quickly gained a reputation for its innovative cuisine and creative approach to dining. Meredith’s menu featured a blend of New Zealand and Pacific Rim flavors, with a focus on fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The restaurant received widespread critical acclaim and was named the Best Restaurant in Auckland by Metro Magazine in 2014.

Michael Meredith has also made several television appearances, including as a judge on the New Zealand reality cooking show, MasterChef, and as a guest chef on The Food Truck. He has also appeared on various cooking segments on New Zealand television.

In 2017, Michael Meredith opened his second restaurant, Mr. Morris, in the Auckland CBD. The restaurant is a casual, modern eatery that focuses on using locally-sourced and sustainable ingredients. Mr. Morris has become a popular spot for Aucklanders looking for a relaxed dining experience.
