Early Life and Education
Antonio Park was born in Argentina in 1973 to Korean parents. His family immigrated to Canada when he was young, and he grew up in Montreal, Quebec. Upon returning to Canada, Park worked in a number of restaurants, including Buonanotte and Kaizen Sushi Bar. In 2006, he opened his own restaurant, Park, in Montreal’s Westmount neighbourhood. The restaurant quickly became a hit with diners and critics alike, earning rave reviews for its inventive menu and sleek design.
Park’s culinary style is characterized by a fusion of Japanese and South American flavours, which he refers to as “Japañola.” He is known for using high-quality, sustainable ingredients in his dishes, and for his emphasis on presentation and technique. Some of his signature dishes include torched octopus with yuzu kosho, quinoa salad with edamame and avocado, and sushi rolls with foie gras and mango.
In addition to his work as a chef, Park is also a television personality. He has appeared on several cooking shows, including Iron Chef Canada, Top Chef Canada, and Chopped Canada. He is also the host of the food travel show, The Chef’s Bar, which airs on Gusto TV.
