Bread and Butter, the two basic kitchen items can do a lot more than what you think. Here’s the recipe of a pudding made with bread and butter.
BREAD AND BUTTER PUDDING
Ingredients
6 white bread slices
Butter for applying
1½ cups milk
¼ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
A pinch of nutmeg powder
¼ tsp green cardamom powder
2 tbsps raisins (kishmish)
Method
1. Preheat the oven at 180˚C.
2. Apply butter on one side and cut each into 4 pieces and set aside.
3. Heat milk in a deep saucepan, add castor sugar and stir till it dissolves. Take the pan off the heat and allow to cool slightly.
4. Take a baking dish and arrange the slices with buttered side up. Set aside.
5. Break in the eggs in the saucepan, add vanilla essence and whisk till well combined.
6. Add nutmeg powder and green cardamom powder and whisk well. Strain the mixture directly on to the bread.
7. Sprinkle raisins and bake for 30 minutes. Take the baking dish out of the oven and allow to cool slightly.
8. Serve warm or cold.
