A healthy take on the classic namak pare so that you can munch on without worries.
BAKED NAMAK PARE
Ingredients
2 tbsps oil + for greasing
1½ cups refined flour
½ cup whole wheat flour
Salt to taste
½ tsp carom seeds
Method
1. Preheat the oven at 180˚C.
2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
3. Take refined flour, whole wheat flour, salt and carom seeds in a bowl. Add the hot oil and sufficient water. Knead to stiff dough.
4. Divide the dough into medium sized equal portions. Grease worktop with oil, place a medium portion of dough and roll into thin sheet. Cut the sheet into long strips vertically. Further make horizontal cuts on the sheet to make small squares.
5. Transfer the small squares on the baking tray. Bake for 12-15 minutes in a preheated oven. Allow to cool down.
6. Serve or store in an airtight container.
