Vladimir Mukhin was born on September 6, 1983, in Moscow, Russia. He was born into a family of chefs, and his father, Andrei Mukhin, was a chef as well. His father owned a small restaurant, where Vladimir spent much of his childhood. Growing up in a family of chefs, Vladimir developed an interest in cooking at a young age. He spent a lot of time in the kitchen, learning how to cook from his father and other chefs.

After finishing high school, Vladimir decided to pursue a career in cooking. He attended the Moscow State University of Service, where he studied culinary arts. During his time in university, he worked part-time in various restaurants to gain practical experience.

Career Beginnings

After completing his studies, Vladimir started his career as a chef in Moscow. He worked in several restaurants, gaining experience and honing his skills. In 2008, he got his big break when he was hired as a sous chef at the famous Turandot restaurant in Moscow. The restaurant was known for its upscale Chinese cuisine and had a reputation for being one of the best restaurants in Moscow. Working at Turandot allowed Vladimir to work alongside some of the best chefs in the industry, and he learned a lot from them.

In 2010, Vladimir was appointed head chef at the legendary Café Pushkin restaurant in Moscow. The restaurant was known for its traditional Russian cuisine, and Vladimir was tasked with updating the menu and bringing new ideas to the table. It was at Café Pushkin that Vladimir began to develop his unique approach to Russian cuisine. He experimented with traditional Russian ingredients and techniques, incorporating modern cooking methods and presentation styles. The restaurant quickly became a hit with food critics and diners alike, and Vladimir’s reputation as an innovative chef began to grow.

White Rabbit Restaurant

In 2012, Vladimir was approached by restaurateur Boris Zarkov to become head chef at his new restaurant, White Rabbit. The restaurant was located on the 16th floor of the Smolensky Passage building in Moscow and had a stunning panoramic view of the city. Boris Zarkov wanted to create a restaurant that would showcase the best of Russian cuisine, and he knew that Vladimir was the perfect chef for the job.

Vladimir embraced the challenge of creating a menu that would showcase the best of Russian cuisine. He spent months researching traditional Russian ingredients and techniques, experimenting with new ideas and flavors. He worked with local farmers and suppliers to source the freshest and highest quality ingredients. The result was a menu that was unlike anything that had been seen before in Moscow.

White Rabbit quickly became one of the most popular restaurants in Moscow, and Vladimir’s reputation as a leading chef in Russia began to spread. In 2015, the restaurant was listed on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, and it has continued to feature on the list ever since. The restaurant has also received several other awards and accolades, including a Michelin star in 2019.
