Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Beef

In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and bay leaves. Sauté for a minute until the spices release their aroma.

Step 2: Sauté the Onion and Ginger-Garlic Paste

Add the sliced onions and sauté until they become golden brown. Then, add the ginger-garlic paste and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Step 3: Cook the Beef

Add the beef cubes to the pot and cook until they turn brown on all sides. Add the red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt, and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes.

Step 4: Add Tomatoes and Cook

Add the chopped tomatoes to the pot and cook until they soften and release oil. This should take about 5-7 minutes.

Step 5: Add Rice and Beef Stock

Add the soaked rice to the pot and mix it with the beef and spices. Pour in the beef stock or water and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and the beef is tender.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve

Once the rice and beef are cooked, remove from heat. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and drizzle lemon juice on top. Serve hot with raita or salad.
