1. Jellybean is coated with bug ‘s feces

Don’t you love jellybeans? Well this made me nauseated as well. They are tasty and shiny but their shiny coat is made from bug’s waste products. Health Canada provides guidelines for the general cleanliness of food, outlining how much microbiological or extraneous matter can be present before it is considered a food safety issue. Extraneous matter includes “animal and insect filth such as excreta, hairs, feather barbules, whole or parts of insects.” Under these same guidelines, there is a creepy fact. It is acceptable to find up to 10 insects,n a 225g serving (about 1.5 cups) of processed raisins or currants. Um No thanks? We like our food insects free?

My sister always used to avoid the food with gelatin but I was too attracted to jellies that I couldn’t avoid them. But now I am rethinking. It is sued in several desserts such as jelly powders (yes the one you make for your custard), marshmallows and cakes. But what is gelatin made from? It is made from the collagen of animal skin and bones mainly cattle hides and pork skins. So whether you are vegan or Muslim AVOID IT.

Carnauba wax is the wax used in cars to make them shine, but this same wax is present in gummy bears and fruit flavoured snacks. Umm Well I thought I am eating jellies man! Why always jellies?
