A sweet treat of golden crisp wontons that are stuffed with a mixture of apple and cinnamon which is one of the best combinations.

APPLE CINNAMON WONTONS

Ingredients

1 medium green apple, peeled and cut into small cubes
1 medium red apple, peeled and chopped
½ tsp cinnamon powder
6-8 wonton sheets
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsps brown sugar
2 tsps corn flour slurry
1 tbsp roasted and chopped walnuts
1½ tbsps roasted and chopped almonds
2 tsps pistachio powder
Refined flour slurry as required
Oil for deep frying
Cinnamon sugar as required
Ready-made vanilla custard to serve

Method

1. Heat butter in a non-stick pan, add green apple and mix and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
2. Add red apple and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add brown sugar, mix and cook for 2 minutes.
3. Add corn flour slurry and stir immediately. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
4. Add walnuts, almonds, pistachio powder and cinnamon powder and sauté for a minute. Take the pan off the heat and transfer the mixture into a bowl and allow it to cool slightly.
5. To make wontons, take a wonton sheet, place spoon full of the apple mixture in the centre and apply refined flour slurry around the sides, bring the sides to the centre, press and seal.
6. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Slide in the wontons, deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper and transfer into a bowl, sprinkle cinnamon sugar and gently toss.
7. Arrange the wontons on a serving plate and serve immediately with vanilla custard.
