Watermelon is a large, sweet fruit originally from southern Africa. The exterior of this fruits is green and hard, whereas the pulp inside is watery and very sweet. It’s related to the cantaloupe family. Watermelon is packed with water and nutrients, it contains very few calories and is exceptionally refreshing. It’s a great source of citrulline and lycopene, two powerful plant compounds, that as essential for human body. 

This juicy melon has alot of health benefits, they can also be frozen, made into a juice or added to cold drinks and not to forget they can be eaten raw! Melon is also used in making some desserts and is a staple fruit in hot and dry regions. 

Watermelon consists mostly of water, 91% to be exact and is 7.5% carbs. It had almost no proteins or fats, hence is low in calories (it’s the best source of healthy sugars for people who are on a diet) Watermelon is a good source of vitamin C and is an antioxidant which is needed for healthy skin and good immunity.
