A delicious pakoda perfect for a nice rainy evening!
TOMATO CHUTNEY PAKODA
Ingredients
2 cups Bengal gram flour (besan)
3 medium tomatoes
Green chutney as required
½ tsp red chilli powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
A pinch of baking soda
¼ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
Oil for deep frying
Chaat masala to serve
Method
1. Take besan in a bowl. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, a pinch of baking soda, ajwain, and add sufficient water. Mix well to form a thick batter and set aside.
2. Thickly slice 1 tomato, and set aside.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, place a portion of green chutney on each slice of tomato, dip it in the batter and drop into the hot oil.
4. Deep fry the tomato pakode till golden and crisp. Drain on the absorbent paper.
5. Sprinkle chaat masala and serve hot.
