One ingredient that we come across on every fasting menu is sweet potato and for all the right reasons. During a fast it is important that the few foods we consume give us enough energy to go through the day and sweet potatoes do just that! It’s a good idea to keep a box of these chips handy on the first day of your Navratri fast.
SWEET POTATO CHIPS
Ingredients
2 medium sweet potatoes, washed
Senda namak to taste
Oil for deep frying
Method
1. Take sufficient water in a large bowl, add senda namak and mix well. Thinly slice sweet potatoes. Set aside for 15-20 minutes.
2. Individually place the sweet potato slices on a muslin cloth and dab on top with the same.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, deep fry the slices till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
4. Serve.
