When I was in Australia recently, I tried this really amazing yet simple Spaghetti with Baked Beans at a local cafe. Simple flavours executed so beautifully ! I tried recreating this comforting dish for today’s AUSvSL match. Hope you enjoy it! #CWC19 #WorldCricEAT

SPAGHETTI WITH BAKED BEANS

Ingredients

400 grams spaghetti, cooked
1¼ cups baked beans
5tbsps olive oil
6 tsps finely chopped garlic
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 oregano sprig
2-3 thyme sprigs
½ cup tomato puree
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
1½ tsps dried red chilli flakes
6-8 cherry tomatoes, halved
Parsley sprig for garnish
Grated parmesan cheese for garnish

Method

1. Heat 2 tbsps olive oil in a non-stick pan, add 3 tsps chopped garlic and saute well. Add onion and mix well. Cook till translucent.
2. Add oregano, thyme and sauté well. Add tomato puree and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add baked beans, salt and crushed black peppercorns, and mix well.
3. Heat remaining olive oil in another non-stick pan, add remaining chopped garlic, spaghetti and dried red chilli flakes. Add salt, cherry tomatoes and toss well.
4. Place a portion of the spaghetti on a serving plate, add a portion of the prepared baked beans.
5. Garnish with parsley sprig and grated parmesan cheese. Serve hot.
