A delicious and flavourful recipe that you must try.
WASABI SHRIMP ON PITA
Ingredients
½ tbsp wasabi paste
200 gms medium sized prawns, peeled and deveined
3 small pizza bases, cut into roundels, grilled to golden brown
1 tbsp oil
2-3 spring onions white, chopped
4-5 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 inch ginger, finely chopped
4-5 fresh red chillies, diagonally sliced + to sprinkle
1 tbsp soya sauce
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
4 tsps cornstarch slurry
White sesame seeds to sprinkle
Chopped spring onions greens to sprinkle
1 medium avocado
½ lemon
½ tbsp wasabi paste
3 small pizza bases, cut into roundels, grilled to golden brown
Spring onion greens, diagonally cut into long thin strips for garnish
Method
1. Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add spring onion white, garlic ginger, red chillies, saute for a minute. Add prawns and sauté for a minute. Add soya sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, salt and crushed black peppercorns. Mix well. Sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add cornstarch slurry. Mix well and sauté for a minute on high heat.
2. Sprinkle white sesame seeds and sprinkle spring onions greens. Sauté for a minute.
3. Cut an avocado into half, separate the seed and scoop out the flesh from only one halve in a bowl. Squeeze ½ a lemons juice in the bowl and mash the mixture completely. Add wasabi paste and mix well. Transfer the mixture in a piping bag.
4. Take pizza bases on a serving platter, pipe out the avocado mixture, add spoons of prepared prawns. Sprinkle white sesame seeds and chopped fresh red chillies on top. Garnish with spring onion greens diagonally sliced.
