SEYAL PAV
Ingredients
8 pavs
2 tbsps oil
½ tsp cumin seeds
½ inch ginger, chopped
4-5 garlic cloves, chopped
2 green chillies, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
1 medium tomato, chopped
½ cup chopped fenugreek leaves
2-3 freshly chopped coriander leaves
Salt to taste
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp red chilli powder
Coriander sprig for garnish
Tea to serve
Method
1. Break pavs into small pieces and add them into a large bowl. Set aside.
2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and sauté till seeds change colour. Add ginger, garlic and green chillies. Sauté for 1 minute.
3. Add onion and sauté till golden brown. Add tomato, fenugreek leaves, chopped coriander and mix well.
4. Add salt, mix well. Cover and cook till the tomato is pulpy. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and mix well.
5. Add 1 cup water and mix well. Add pav pieces, mix well and add ½ cup water. Mix well, cover and cook for 3-4 minutes. Take it off the heat.
6. Transfer to a serving plate, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot with tea.
