Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Beef Filling

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned.
  • Add the onion, garlic, carrots, and peas, and sauté until the vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes and set aside.

Step 2: Make the Mashed Potatoes

  • In a large bowl, mash the boiled potatoes with milk, butter, salt, and pepper until creamy.

Step 3: Assemble the Pie

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry and line a pie dish with it.
  • Spread the beef mixture evenly over the pastry, then layer the mashed potatoes on top.
  • Cover the pie with another sheet of puff pastry, sealing the edges. Trim excess pastry.
  • Brush the top with beaten egg and cut small slits for ventilation.
