All the ingredients of the delicious popular pav bhaji assembled and shaped into burger patty and shallow fried, sandwiched between burger buns to make this unique innovation recipe.

PAV BHAJI BURGER

Ingredients

2 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
3 tablespoons blanched and crushed green peas
1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
2 tbsps finely chopped green capsicum
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons pav bhaji masala
4 burger buns
1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon red chilli paste
½ teaspoon red chilli powder
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
Salt to taste
½ cup dried breadcrumbs + for coating
Refined flour (maida) slurry
Oil for deep-frying
Butter as required
Few lettuce leaves, torn
1 medium onion, cut into rings
1 small tomato, sliced

Method

1. Mix together potatoes, green peas, garlic, capsicum, tomatoes, onions, ginger-garlic paste, chilli paste, chilli powder, pav bhaji masala, coriander leaves and salt in a bowl. Add breadcrumbs and mix well.
2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into patties. Dip them in the slurry and coat with breadcrumbs. Repeat the process.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry patties till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
4. Halve burger buns horizontally and apply some butter on each halve. Place some lettuce leaves on 4 base halves, top with a patty, some more lettuce leaves, some onion rings and a tomato slice. Cover with remaining halves and secure with a toothpick.
5. Serve immediately.
