These onion bhajiyas are a class apart. Served with green chutney, makes them even more delicious.
KANDA BHAJIYA
Ingredients
3 large onion (kanda), sliced
Salt to taste
½ cup gram flour (besan)
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp red chilli powder
¾ tsp coriander powder
½ tsp cumin powder
1 green chilli, chopped
2 tsps chopped fresh coriander leaves
Oil for deep frying
Tomato ketchup to serve
Green chutney to serve
Method
1. Take onions in a large bowl, sprinkle salt and mix well. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
2. Add gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder. Add cumin powder, green chilli and chopped coriander and mix till well combined.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, drop in small portions of the prepared mixture using your hand and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
4. Transfer on a serving plate and serve hot with tomato ketchup and green chutney.
