Mouth-melting truffles flavoured with red wine, cinnamon sticks and oranges.
MULLED WINE TRUFFLES
Ingredients
1½ cups red wine
½ cup fresh cream
1 cup melted dark chocolate
¼ cup sugar
5-6 black peppercorns
2 inch cinnamon stick
2-3 cloves
A pinch of nutmeg
A pinch of all spice powder
2 orange slices
Unsweetened coco powder
Method
1. Heat wine in a non-stick pan, add sugar, black peppercorns, cinnamon stick, cloves and grate nutmeg.
2. Add all spice powder, orange slices and let it come to a boil. Reduce the wine till ¼ its quantity.
3. Heat cream in a non-stick pan, add this to the melted chocolate, strain the wine mixture into the same bowl and mix till well combined. Refrigerate till set.
4. Divide the mixture into small equal portions. Take coco powder on a plate and place each portion into the coco powder and roll till evenly coated.
5. Shape each portion into a ball. Serve.
