Directions

Step 1

Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

In a deep pan, heat oil and fry sliced onions until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

In the same oil, add ginger and garlic paste, cook for 2 minutes, then add chicken pieces.

Add yogurt, salt, cumin, coriander, and cardamom to the chicken.

Cook until the chicken is tender and spices are well mixed.

Boil rice with a pinch of salt until half cooked. Drain and layer over the chicken mixture.

Step 7

Sprinkle saffron over the rice, cover the pan, and let it simmer on low heat for 20 minutes.

Garnish with fried onions and green chilies before serving hot.
