The Mexican nachos get a desi twist.
INDIAN NACHOS
Ingredients
1 cup maize flour (makai ka atta)
1 cup refined flour (maida)
½ tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1 tbsp Tata Sampann Dal Masala
Oil for drizzling + for deep frying
Sour cream to serve
Method
1. In a bowl, add maize flour and refined flour. Add turmeric powder, salt, Tata Sampann Dal Masala and mix well.
2. Make a well in the centre and add sufficient water, knead to semi-soft dough.
3. Drizzle a little oil on the worktop, take a portion of the dough and shape it into a ball and slightly flatten it.
4. Place the flatten dough on the greased worktop and roll it into a thin sheet. Prick with fork all over the sheet.
5. Trim the sides to form a rectangular sheet, discard the edges and cut into triangles.
6. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, deep fry till golden and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
7. Serve with sour cream.
