Recipe Description

Chicken Patties are a savory snack made with a delicious chicken filling encased in a flaky puff pastry shell. Perfect for tea-time, parties, or picnics, these patties are crispy on the outside and packed with flavorful chicken on the inside.

  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 packet puff pastry sheets (thawed)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken Filling

  • Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until translucent.
  • Add the garlic paste and cook for 1 minute.
  • Mix in the shredded chicken, black pepper, red chili flakes, cumin powder, and salt. Stir well and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool.
  • Once cooled, mix in the mayonnaise for a creamy texture.

Step 2: Assemble the Patties

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them into squares or circles, as desired.
  • Place a spoonful of the chicken filling in the center of each pastry piece.
  • Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  • Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.

Step 3: Bake the Patties

  • Arrange the patties on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until the patties are golden brown.
  • Serve hot with ketchup or your favorite dip.
