Delicious puris made using leftover dal.
LEFTOVER DAL PURI
Ingredients
1½ cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
½ cup leftover dal
Salt to taste
1½ tsps oil + to deep fry
Potato subzi to serve
Method
1. Add whole wheat flour, carom seeds, leftover dal and salt in a bowl. Mix well. Add little water and knead to stiff dough. Add 1½ tsps oil and mix well. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
2. Divide the dough into equal portions. Apply oil on worktop and roll out each portion into medium sized thin discs.
3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, lower the discs and deep fry till puffed and crisp. Remove and drain in an absorbent paper.
4. Serve hot with potato subzi.
