Daal Palak:
Ingredients:
Spinach 2 bunches
Split chickpeas 2 cups
Onion 1 large
Garlic 1 tbsp
Ginger 2 tbsp
Red chili powder 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Cumin 2 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Oil 1/3 cup
Tomatoes 6
Method:
In a bowl wash spinach with cold water, squeeze and cut it. Then in a pan heat oil, fry ginger, garlic and onions. Now add red chili powder and turmeric powder. Cook for about 2 minutes. Then add 1 cup water, cover and cook for 5 minutes. Now in another pan boil split chickpeas. Then add tomatoes in the onion mixture, also add cumin. Cook well. Now allow the water to dry. Then add split chickpeas, salt and spinach, cook for another 2 minutes. In the end serve hot.
Ginger Snaps:
Ingredients:
Flour 350 gm
Butter 200 gm
Baking powder 1 tsp
Caster sugar 200 gm
Ginger paste 2 tbsp
Baking soda 1 tsp
Golden syrup 75 gm
Egg 1
Baking temperature: 160 gm
Baking time: 15-20 minutes.
Method:
In a bowl add all the dry ingredients. Mix well. Then in another bowl beat butter. Now add egg and caster sugar. Mix well. Then add ginger paste, golden syrup and the dry ingredients. Fold properly. Now make cookies out of it and bake in an oven for about 15-20 minutes on 160 c. Remove and cool. Serve.
Mandi:
Ingredients:
Chicken (8 pieces) 1
Sela rice 3 cups
Garlic (chopped) 2 tbsp
Onion (chopped) 1 large
Oil ¼ cup
Salt 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Green cardamom 6-8
Black pepper 1 tsp
Cinnamon powder 1 tbsp
Cumin powder 1 tbsp
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Cinnamon (whole) 3 sticks
Clove 4-6
Cardamom powder ½ tsp
Clove powder 1 pinch
Method:
In a bowl add chicken, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt, lemon juice, clove powder, cardamom powder, cinnamon powder, garlic and black pepper. Marinate for about 30 minutes. Then in a wok add 1 liter water and place it in a wire rack. Then add chicken, cover and cook on a medium heat for about 20 minutes. Now heat oil in a pan, fry garlic and onion for a minute. Then add all the spices and salt. Cook well. Now add steam chicken, cook until it gets a boil. Then add rice and cook for 10 minutes. Now cover and cook for another 10 minutes on medium heat. In the end place it in a dish and set chicken on top. Serve hot.
