Recipe Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Pearl sugar, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, beaten egg, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 10-12 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
  6. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Cover the buns with a damp cloth and let rise for 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  9. Brush the tops of the buns with the beaten egg and sprinkle with pearl sugar.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Let cool slightly before serving.
