Lasagna sheets layered with spicy soya granule mixture, white sauce and grated cheese, baked till perfection.
DESI BAKED PASTA
Ingredients
6 lasagne sheets
2 tablespoons oil
2 green chillies, chopped
1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
1 cup soya granules, soaked
2 tablespoons finely chopped carrots
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
2 teaspoons cumin (jeera) powder
¼ cup green peas, boiled
2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
White sauce as required
Tomato sauce as required
8 tablespoons grated mozzarella cheese
Method
1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add green chillies and garlic, mix and sauté well.
2. Add onion and tomato, mix and cook till tomatoes soften. Add soya granules and mix well.
3. Add carrots and turmeric powder and mix well. Add salt and cumin powder and mix.
4. Add green peas and 1 tablespoon coriander leaves, mix and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
5. Preheat oven to 180º C.
6. Spread a ladleful of white sauce in a glass baking dish. Top with 2 lasagne sheets, spread some more white sauce, tomato sauce and generous portion of cooked mixture. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons cheese and repeat till the cooked mixture are used up.
7. Sprinkle remaining coriander leaves, put the dish in the preheated oven and bake till the cheese melts.
8. Serve hot.
