“Next Level Chef” Season 2 Episode 1 Recap & Biography

Welcome back to “Next Level Chef,” the high-pressure culinary competition where only the best of the best can make it to the top. After a long hiatus, the show has returned for a second season, promising even more intense challenges, unexpected twists, and mouthwatering dishes.

In the first episode of Season 2, twelve chefs from around the world have come together to battle it out for the title of Next Level Chef. They have been divided into three teams of four, each led by a mentor chef: the legendary Italian chef Massimo Bottura, the innovative American chef Wylie Dufresne, and the French culinary genius Dominique Crenn.

Before the first challenge, we get to know the contestants a little better. Here’s a brief bio of each chef:

  1. Akira Ishida, Japan – Akira is a master of sushi and a perfectionist when it comes to the presentation of his dishes. He runs his own Michelin-starred restaurant in Tokyo and has won numerous international awards.
  2. Carlos Torres, Mexico – Carlos grew up in a family of chefs and has been cooking since he was a child. He has a passion for Mexican cuisine and loves to experiment with bold flavors and spices.
  3. Eva Nguyen, Vietnam – Eva was born in Vietnam but raised in France. She trained at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and now runs her own fusion restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City.
  4. Ivan Petrov, Russia – Ivan is a classically trained chef who has worked in some of the finest restaurants in Moscow and St. Petersburg. He specializes in traditional Russian cuisine but also enjoys experimenting with modern techniques.
  5. James Robertson, Australia – James is a rising star in the Australian culinary scene and has won several awards for his innovative dishes. He loves to incorporate local ingredients and flavors into his cooking.
  6. Kimiko Nakamura, Japan – Kimiko is a master of kaiseki, the traditional multi-course Japanese dinner. She runs a small restaurant in Kyoto and has a deep respect for the history and culture of Japanese cuisine.
  7. Luis Ramirez, Peru – Luis is a self-taught chef who has gained a reputation for his creative and colorful dishes inspired by his native Peruvian cuisine. He runs a popular restaurant in Lima and has been featured in several international food magazines.
  8. Maria Rodriguez, Spain – Maria is a skilled pastry chef who has worked in some of the top restaurants in Madrid and Barcelona. She is known for her intricate desserts and enjoys experimenting with new ingredients and techniques.
  9. Nasser Al-Mansoori, Qatar – Nasser is a chef and restaurateur who has been instrumental in promoting Qatari cuisine on the international stage. He is passionate about preserving traditional cooking methods and ingredients.
  10. Olivia Chan, China – Olivia is a rising star in the Chinese culinary scene and has won several awards for her modern interpretations of classic Chinese dishes. She runs her own restaurant in Shanghai and has a large following on social media.
  11. Raul Martinez, Mexico – Raul is a talented young chef who has worked in some of the top restaurants in Mexico City. He specializes in modern Mexican cuisine and loves to experiment with unusual flavor combinations.
  12. Sophie Dupont, France – Sophie is a classically trained French chef who has worked in some of the top restaurants in Paris. She is known for her delicate and refined dishes and has won several awards for her cooking.

Fried Cinnamon Strips

Combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a large resealable plastic bag. Seal and toss to mix. Heat oil in deep-fryer or deep skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Fry 4 or 5 tortilla strips for 30 seconds on a side, until golden brown.
