Geoff Tracy was born on February 18, 1973, in Bethesda, Maryland. He grew up in the Washington, DC area and attended Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda. After completing high school, he enrolled at the University of Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics.
Although he majored in economics, Geoff had a passion for cooking from an early age. He began cooking when he was just ten years old and would often help his mother in the kitchen. He also worked at a local pizza shop during high school, where he learned the basics of cooking and customer service.
Career Beginnings
After college, Geoff moved to New York City to pursue a career in finance. He landed a job at Merrill Lynch, but he soon realized that his true passion was in the kitchen. He decided to leave his job and enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.
