Directions

Step 1

Marinate chicken with yogurt, ginger, garlic, garam masala, cumin, coriander, and salt. Let it rest for 30 minutes.

Step 2

In a large pot, fry onions until golden brown. Remove half for garnishing.

Step 3

Add marinated chicken to the pot with onions and cook until chicken is tender.

Step 4

Boil rice in another pot until half cooked. Drain and set aside.

Step 5

Layer chicken and rice in the pot, sprinkle saffron and green chilies between layers.

Step 6

Cover tightly and cook on low heat for 15 minutes. Garnish with fried onions before serving.
