Directions

Step 1

Clean the pabda fish thoroughly and pat dry. Set aside.

Step 2

Grind mustard seeds and green chilies into a smooth paste using a little water.

Step 3

In a bowl, mix the mustard paste with turmeric powder, salt, and half of the mustard oil.

Step 4

Coat the fish evenly with the mustard mixture. Add chopped cilantro and mix well.

Step 5

Place the fish in a heatproof dish and drizzle the remaining mustard oil on top.

Step 6

Add water to a steamer and bring to a boil. Place the dish in the steamer and cover. Steam for 20-25 minutes until the fish is cooked.

Step 7

Once done, remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve hot with steamed rice.
