Directions

Step 1

Warm the milk and dissolve the yeast and a pinch of sugar in it. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.

In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, cardamom, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, and melted butter. Knead into a soft dough.

Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.

Roll the dough into a rectangle.

Sprinkle saffron strands and chopped pistachios evenly over the surface.

Roll the dough tightly, then cut it lengthwise and twist the strands together to form a braid.

Place the braided dough in a greased loaf pan. Let it rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown. Cool before slicing and serving.
