Directions

Step 1

Rinse the moong dal thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear.

Step 2

In a pot, add moong dal and 3 cups of water. Bring to a boil.

Step 3

Add turmeric powder and salt. Simmer on low heat until the dal is soft.

Step 4

In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds until they start to pop.

Step 5

Add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger.

Step 6

Sauté until onions are translucent.

Step 7

Mix in the coriander leaves and green chilies. Stir well.

Step 8

Combine the sautéed mixture with the cooked dal. Cook for another 5 minutes and serve hot.
