Directions

Step 1

Rinse and soak the Split Bengal Gram for 30 minutes.

Step 2

In a pot, add beef, soaked gram, chopped onions, garlic, ginger, and all whole spices with 3 cups of water.

Step 3

Cook on medium flame until meat is tender and water evaporates completely.

Step 4

Let the mixture cool. Remove whole spices like cardamom if desired.

Step 5

Grind the cooked mixture into a thick, smooth paste without adding water.

Step 6

Mix in chopped mint and an egg. Knead well to combine.

Step 7

Divide the mixture into equal portions.

Step 8

Shape each portion into flat round kababs.

Step 9

Heat a non-stick pan with a little oil.

Step 10

Shallow fry the kababs on medium flame until golden brown on both sides.

Step 11

Serve hot with chutney, ketchup, or in a bun as a kabab sandwich.
