Directions

Step 1

Soak shrimp in buttermilk for 10 minutes.

Step 2

In a bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

Step 3

Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).

Step 4

Dredge shrimp in seasoned flour mixture and fry in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.

Step 5

Drain shrimp on paper towels.

Step 6

Slice rolls, spread remoulade sauce, add fried shrimp, lettuce, and tomato.
