Directions

Step 1

Soak the saffron in 2 Tbsp of warm milk and set aside.

Step 2

Marinate the chicken with yogurt, garlic, ginger, garam masala, turmeric, and salt. Let it sit for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Slice onions thinly and fry until golden brown.

Step 4

Reserve half for garnishing.

Step 5

Cook rice in boiling water until 70% done. Drain and set aside.

Step 6

Layer half of the rice in a pot, add marinated chicken, basil leaves, and fried onions. Top with remaining rice.

Step 7

Drizzle saffron milk over the top. Cover and cook on low heat for 20 minutes until fully cooked.
