Directions

Step 1

Clean and devein the prawns, then marinate them with turmeric and salt. Set aside.

Wash the rice thoroughly and drain the water. Keep it aside.

Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions until golden brown. Add garlic and ginger paste; sauté until fragrant.

Add the marinated prawns and cook until they turn pink. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, add rice and sauté for a couple of minutes. Add red chili powder and mix well.

Add water and salt to the rice. Bring it to a boil, then reduce heat and cover. Cook until the rice is done.

Gently mix in the cooked prawns and chopped cilantro. Cover and let it simmer for a few minutes before serving.
