Ingredients

For the Porridge Base:

  • 1/2 cup quinoa, rinsed well
  • 1 1/4 cups almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or agave (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt

For Toppings (optional):

  • Fresh berries or sliced banana
  • Chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans)
  • Seeds (chia, flax, pumpkin)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine rinsed quinoa, almond milk, cinnamon, vanilla, salt, and maple syrup.
  2. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes until quinoa is soft and mixture is creamy, stirring occasionally.
  3. If needed, add a splash more milk to reach desired consistency.
  4. Serve warm, topped with fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, or a drizzle of maple syrup.
