Ingredients

  • 1 package (10.75 ounces) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water (110°F to 115°F)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the yeast, warm water, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Let stand for 10 minutes, or until foamy.
  2. Stir in the salt and melted butter.
  3. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a 12×18-inch rectangle.
  7. Combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter in a small bowl.
  8. Spread the sugar mixture over the dough.
  9. Roll up the dough jelly-roll style, starting with the long side.
  10. Cut the roll into 1-inch slices.
  11. Place the slices in a greased 9-inch bundt pan, cut side up.
  12. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and let rise for 30 minutes.
  13. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  14. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown.
  15. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
