  • Potatoes ½ kg
  • Green chilies 4 (finely chopped)
  • Onion ½ cup (finely chopped)
  • Chili powder ½ tsp
  • Ginger 1 tsp (finely chopped)
  • Coriander leaves 4 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • For Batter:
  • Gram flour 1 cup heaped
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Chili powder ½ tsp
  • Oil for frying


Boil, peel and mash potatoes, mix with green chilies, ginger, onion, chili powder, coriander leaves and lemon juice, mix well. Divide the mixture into equal portion. Make small round balls. For Batter: In a bowl add gram flour, salt and chili powder make thick batter by adding water. Dip the potato ball into batter and deep fry till light golden. Remove from oil, serve hot with tamarind and mint chatni
